Instagram vs TikTok for Singapore Brands: Which to Prioritise

You probably do not have budget or time to do both well. Here is how to pick.

Pick Instagram first if

  • Your customers are 25 to 55.
  • Your product is visual but not video-first: fashion, interiors, F&B plating.
  • You already have a photo library.
  • You want to run performance ads immediately (Meta Ads Manager is more mature).

Pick TikTok first if

  • Your customers are 16 to 34.
  • Your product benefits from demonstration: beauty, gadgets, food prep.
  • You can shoot 3 to 5 short videos a week.
  • You want organic reach without paid ads.

Content cadence to make either work

  • Instagram: 3 to 4 grid posts, 5 to 7 stories, 2 to 3 reels per week.
  • TikTok: 4 to 7 videos per week, minimum.

The Singapore reality

Most Singapore brands do Instagram badly and TikTok not at all. Doing Instagram well beats doing TikTok badly. Read our social media marketing overview.
